an Experienced wedding florist to join our team in 2019

We are looking for an experienced wedding florist to join PYRUS next year, to run our wedding studio.  You will be responsible for independently delivering our weddings from initial proposal through to installation, also working as part of a team on other projects and supporting the creative studio. We are looking for a creative florist with excellent communication and written skills, with several years of experience in the industry.

The position is based in our studio/flower garden, a 30 minute drive from Edinburgh city, in rural East Lothian.  Rate of pay relative to experience.

The position will start in spring 2019.

The role

  • Delivering PYRUS weddings from consultation and proposal, through design and installation.

  • Documenting work for PYRUS archive and social media channels, managing PYRUS wedding Instagram.

  • Managing/ordering stock and wedding materials.

  • Working independently with clients and part of our team on large scale events/installations.

  • Embracing the ethos of British flowers and using blooms from the PYRUS garden.

  • General studio upkeep and creative studio support, gardening work as required.

  • 30-40 hours per week



  • Several years creative floristry experience.

  • Client focussed.

  • Highly organised individual, experienced in working to deadlines.

  • Passion for seasonal, local flowers and the wedding industry.

  • Keen eye for detail.

  • Can-do attitude and adaptability.

  • Willing to embrace and learn the PYRUS approach and aesthetic.

  • Excellent customer service, communication and written skills.

  • Over 25 with a full, clean UK driving licence.



  • Experience in independently leading and planning wedding floristry.

  • Own transport.

  • Excellent photography skills and an interest in marketing and social media.

  • Understanding of the British flower industry and seasonal, locally grown flowers.

  • Thrive in fast paced environments and enjoy an element of organised chaos!
