Established in 2011, PYRUS is a specialist botanical design studio and Victorian walled cut-flower garden in East Lothian near Edinburgh, owned and run by Fiona Inglis.
Inspired by the need to grow unusual, scented blooms for their own creative practice - flowers that were frustratingly difficult to source in Britain back then - Fiona (and her co-founder Natalya) established the cutting garden and it quickly became a passion, with the journey from seed to bloom central to PYRUS' creative practice ever since.
Fiona is endlessly inspired by the patterns and rhythms of nature, with influences from perfume to land art. Working across the mediums of contemporary horticulture, photography, installation art and events, she has built close relationships with other creatives, brands and private clients throughout the UK.
Fiona's passion for sustainable event design breaks away from perceived limitations of seasonal materials. Her work embodies a sense of time and place, which creates emotive environments and moments for both private and commercial clients.
Imported blooms carry a heavy carbon footprint and, passionate about encouraging change in the flower sector, Fiona has developed a wholesale arm to the PYRUS business with the goal of making quality locally grown flowers readily accessible to the wider floristry market.
