This season we have an opening for a Garden Manager/ Grower. This is an exciting opportunity to step into the running of an established flower farm. PYRUS have been selling wholesale cut flowers, grown in the 2 acre walled garden, for over eight years. With established routes to market we are now looking for a special someone, keen to develop a career in floriculture, to take on the management of the garden, crops and wholesale.

This position is ideal for a highly organised, self motivated individual with professional experience in horticulture or crop production, who would love to develop a career in floriculture. Planning and problem solving skills are a must, as is good physical health and a love of flowers! Responsibilities cover the many aspects of helping run a flower farm, including planning, growing, maintenance, cutting and selling flowers, and record keeping. The walled garden is based in East Lothian, about 30 minutes from Edinburgh city centre. Applicants should have independent means of transport to the garden, and flexibility to work early or late in the day, inline with suitable temperatures for flower harvesting.

The role will be 24-32 hours per week relating to experience, and run from March- November. The position has the opportunity to develop into an integral salaried position for the right person and level of commitment. The hourly rate for the the seasonal position is £14.50-15ph relating to experience, and around £30k pro rata for a salaried role.
