Join Julia Billings of Woollenflower in the PYRUS walled garden with Fiona for this immersive half-day workshop, where we'll explore the fascinating art of natural plant dyes. Julia's expertise in horticulture and herbal medicine illuminates the age-old relationship between humans and plants, revealing how we can utilise their diverse properties. We'll begin by learning about various dye plants and the natural dyeing process, before gathering materials from the walled garden to create our own dye baths. Julia will share sustainable practices and her valuable tips for achieving successful and beautiful results.
After a delicious, seasonal lunch provided by Company Bakery, we'll put our newfound knowledge into practice. Using the dyes we've prepared, we'll create stunning botanically inspired dyed Easter Eggs. Individually from the garden, we'll collect delicate botanical elements to create unique relief prints on to our eggs These exquisite, ephemeral designs capture the fleeting essence of spring, symbolisng rebirth and the cyclical rhythms of life
