Frequently Asked Questions About Luxury Sustainable Floristry.
Planning wedding flowers, commissioning a bespoke floral installation or visiting our Victorian walled garden? Below you’ll find answers to some of the questions we’re asked most often about our British-grown flowers, creative floristry, workshops and private commissions.
Weddings
Do you create luxury wedding flowers across Scotland?
Yes. We create bespoke wedding flowers for couples across East Lothian, Edinburgh and throughout Scotland. Every wedding is thoughtfully designed around your venue, the season and your vision, using British-grown flowers wherever possible. From intimate celebrations to large-scale floral installations, each commission is tailored to create a memorable experience.
What makes PYRUS different from other wedding florists?
At PYRUS, flowers are more than decoration—they are an expression of season, place and craftsmanship. We work exclusively with British-grown flowers whenever possible, many cultivated within our own Victorian walled garden in East Lothian. Our floral designs are known for their natural movement, sculptural forms and artistic composition, creating elegant arrangements that feel both contemporary and deeply connected to nature.
Do you only use British-grown flowers?
Our philosophy is rooted in supporting British flower growers and celebrating the beauty of seasonal flowers. Throughout the growing season, we work almost exclusively with British-grown blooms, many from our own garden. During the winter months or when specific varieties are unavailable, we carefully source additional flowers from trusted growers who share our commitment to quality and sustainability.
Creative Floristry
What is sustainable floristry?
For us, sustainable floristry means designing with the seasons, prioritising locally grown flowers, reducing unnecessary waste and avoiding single-use floral mechanics wherever possible. By embracing what nature provides, our work feels authentic, environmentally conscious and unique to each time of year.
Do you create flowers for homes, brands and private events?
Absolutely. Alongside weddings, we create bespoke floral designs for private homes, dinner parties, editorial shoots, brand activations, hospitality spaces and special celebrations. Whether you’re looking for a one-off installation or ongoing floral styling, every commission is designed specifically for your space and occasion.
Do you offer bespoke floral installations?
Yes. We specialise in creative floral installations that transform spaces through flowers, foliage and natural materials. From suspended installations and entrance features to large-scale event styling and immersive botanical displays, every installation is designed to complement its surroundings while celebrating the beauty of seasonal British flowers.
Walled Garden
Can I visit your Victorian walled garden?
Our Victorian walled garden is not open for general public access, but we regularly welcome visitors through seasonal workshops, private events and pre-booked experiences. As both a working flower garden and creative space, it offers a unique opportunity to experience the changing seasons and see many of the flowers we grow for our designs.
What workshops and events do you host?
Throughout the year we host a programme of seasonal floristry workshops, botanical experiences and creative gatherings within our Victorian walled garden. From hand-tied bouquet making and wreath workshops to immersive garden events, each experience celebrates seasonal flowers, craftsmanship and slow, creative living. New workshops are announced throughout the year, so we recommend joining our mailing list or following us on social media for the latest dates.
Ordering & Collections
Can I order seasonal bouquets?
Yes, when our garden and the seasons allow. We release a limited number of bouquets throughout the growing season, created using British-grown flowers harvested at their natural peak. Availability varies depending on what is flourishing in the garden, making every bouquet unique and truly seasonal.
Where do you work?
Our studio is based in East Lothian, just outside Edinburgh, and we work with clients across Scotland. We regularly create wedding flowers, botanical installations and floral commissions throughout Edinburgh, the Lothians and beyond. For larger projects and destination weddings, we’re happy to discuss opportunities further afield.
